an artie fishall christmas

This is our special fundraising album release, setting out to raise some money to support two incredible organisations - Aussie Hay Runners and BlazeAid. Both organisations are primarily volunteer-run and use all donations to support farmers affected by drought, fire or flood.

This album will be crowd-funded to ensure that we can maximise the money we raise for these organisations. We have already released one track - But It's Only November - via the streaming services (yes, the same track that we released as a single in 2025) and will release one more during the year. Otherwise, these tracks will be exclusively available via the fundraising CD - not via the streaming services until at least 2027.

You can listen to an excerpt of each track by clicking on the media player under each track's description on this page.

Sure, this is another Christmas album - how many do you actually need?

But this one is An Artie Fishall Christmas ... get on board.

We've brought the whole family together for this one, including Polly Phonic (who joined Artie on The Wind Was Kind and recently released her first solo single, Be My Digital Boyfriend), The Staves Of St Dave's Welsh Male Voice Choir and Unreal Records' latest signing, Anna Logg.

The fundraising window is strictly open from 1 May till 14 June 2026. If we can get our total pledges up to $1500, that will mean that the CD goes ahead. If we don't get there, no one will be charged on their card and the CD won't go ahead.

NEWS FLASH: We have reached our initial target so THIS IS HAPPENING!

But ... don't stop supporting this fundraising event now.
Every dollar we now raise goes directly to these two amazing organisations!!

1. An Artie Fishall Christmas

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

An obvious selection for the opening track, bemoaning the fact that what used to be a family get-together now seems to be an Instagram festival. Staged photos have replaced candid family shots. An Artie Fishall Christmas or an artificial Christmas? You decide for yourself.

2. But It's Only November

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

If we believe the advertising campaigns, Christmas should be held sometime in mid-November. Surely we only need a few weeks to get prepared for the big day and yet, we see Christmas decorations and hear on-repeat Christmas songs being played relentlessly from late October onwards. Is it just us that thinks we should hold off until December?

3. Burnt Sausages and A Barbecued Prawn

Vocals:  Sammy Conductor
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

While the traditional Christmas carols are an important part of the celebration, there seems to have been a million Christmas-related songs popping up on the streaming services, all of which seem to capture the true essence of a northern hemisphere Christmas. This is our take on a traditional Australian family Christmas, brilliantly performed by our drummer and percussionist, Sammy Conductor.

4. Don't Wish Me Happy Holidays

Vocals:  Lucy Lastyk
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

If there is one thing that really annoys us about the changes that have happened to Christmas during the past 20 years or so, it is the apparent offence of wishing someone "Merry Christmas". Lucy Lastyk wants to know why we can't say Merry Christmas anymore? Yes, we have a different cultural mix and appreciation but surely that doesn't stop us from saying Merry Christmas - does it?

5. Christmas In June - Not July

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

This is one that has always puzzled us. We understand that many of the traditions of Christmas relate to winter activities and therefore having a "mock Christmas" event midway through the year will undoubtedly appeal to some people. But why July? Surely if Christmas is a few days after the Southern Summer Solstice, the mid year version should be in the last few days of June. Shouldn't it? Christmas in June, if you must. Christmas in July makes no sense.

6. Uncle Frank

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

Every family has one, don't they. Maybe not Uncle Frank by name but listen to this song and I bet you can identify someone in your family who is just like Artie's Uncle Frank. This is our tribute to all of the Uncle Franks (and Auntie Shirleys, too!), especially those who no one can explain how they fit into the family.

7. It's 44 Degrees

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

Similar to the sentiments of the earlier track - Burnt Sausages and A Barbecued Prawn - this song highlights how silly some of our Australia Christmas traditions are when it is literally 44 degrees outside. Christmas "ugly" jumpers, fake snow, roasted meats and vegetables ... it's all part of Christmas. Meanwhile outside ...

8. No More Last Minute Christmas Blues

Vocals:  Artie Fishall & Anna Logg
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

We introduce Anna Logg - an up-and-coming artist from unreal records. Anna and Artie bring us a happy story of a couple who used to be last minute Christmas shoppers but have found peace and tranquility in some forward planning and preparation. We think they might be on to something here ...

9. We Don't Kris Kringle Very Much

Vocals:  Indie Pendant
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

Remember the "good old days" when you'd create a Christmas list for your friends and family members, thinking about presents they would be genuinely pleased to receive. It gave us an opportunity to choose something that told the recipient how much we cared. Not any more. This obsession with pooling resources, drawing a name out of a hat and buying one present for that person - the dreaded Kris Kringle - has taken over. And Indie doesn't like it one little bit.

10. Dad's Even More Surprised

Vocals:  Polly Phonic
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

You can picture the scene. Dad is about to hand over his Christmas presents to his children. The excitement and anticipation grows. What could possibly be inside the beautifully wrapped presents? The paper is torn and the kids love every single gift. They could never have imagined what they were getting. Neither could Dad - he's got no idea what he was giving them either. The kids might have been surprised ... but Dad's even more surprised.

11. I'm Low Key Allergic To Christmas

Vocals:  Al O'Mentry
Lyrics & Music: Harmonic / Davidson

While many people love Christmas - to the point where they start preparing weeks, if not months, in advance - many others don't. For some it brings on loneliness, grief, anxiety and a whole lot of stress. Al is one such person. He describes himself as low-key allergic to Christmas and we think that there many of our fans who feel the same.

12. Call It What It Is

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

There is a Melbourne institution called Carols By Candlelight, held every year at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. Over time, we have seen a significant reduction in the number of carols being sung, replaced by songs performed by people whose biggest claim to fame is winning a reality TV show. If it is Carols by Candlelight, let us have carols. If it is something else - a collection of songs that might have a vague connection to Christmas - then call it what it is.

13. Carols Of Old

Vocals:  The Staves of St.Dave's Welsh Male Voice Choir
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

We miss the traditional carols that we love to hear at Christmas. As we said about the previous track, if we are having carols events, let's have carols. This song is performed by The Staves of St.Dave's Welsh Male Voice Choir and pays homage to the wonderful Christmas carols of our digital childhoods. Please bring them back.

bonus tracks!

While this CD is primarily a Christmas album, we found there was enough room to include a couple of tracks that had previously only been available on the streaming and digital download sites. The tracks come from the EP called Smoke On The Hill (January 2026), available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, amongst others.

These two bonus tracks speak, in turn, of Aussie Hay Runners and  BlazeAid.

We hope you enjoy them!

14. Hay Runners

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

This song is dedicated to everyone involved at Aussie Hay Runners. Locating and purchasing hay from those who can spare it and making sure that it gets to farmers who need it after a fire, flood or drought.

15. Building Fences

Vocals:  Artie Fishall
Lyrics & Music: Phil Harmonic

This song is dedicated to everyone involved at BlazeAid. EStablishing work camps in areas that have been affected by natural disasters and working to build fences for farmers who have lost theirs in a natural disaster.

This one is for Kevin, Rhonda and Melissa and every single camp coordinator, logistics coordinators, fence builders and every other volunteer at BlazeAid.
